Long time lurker, first time poster in this forum. I'm a big TZ fan, going back to when I'd watch the series on reruns on WPIX (channel 11) growing up in New York in the late '70s-'80s (the original run was before my time).

I look forward to continuing to read through the great threads and discussions here, and to contribute when I can.

Welcome, Dave. I saw most of the original run, but I also followed the series on WPIX (and WOR before that). It's too bad the version of your initial exposure was chopped up as badly as it was. I hope you've since had the opportunity to see the episodes in their full glory.

Sure, I've since seen the "full glory" versions of the episodes many times. In the "old days," I remember manually setting the top-loading VCR timer to record the WPIX versions (they were usually on at 11:00 PM, 1:00 AM, and sometimes later), then I'd re-edit my "raw" video with a second VCR to get rid of the commercials. I don't think a VHS version of the series was available at that time, and if it was, I'm sure it would've been out of my (junior high) price range.

The other issue with my original exposure to the run was that the network seemed to run the same (i.e. marathon regular) episodes, and rarely strayed from this set.
