When I alerted Andrew Ramage about Paul Mazursky's passing so that he could acknowledge it in the TZ Museum, he shared what was stunning news to me. Here's what he said, quoted with his permission:
Terry Burnham's death was confirmed a few days ago. A lady who emailed me earlier this year to tell me that Terry had possibly died, who was one of Terry's classmates long ago, emailed me again last week. She works in law enforcement and has access to a couple of the 'Big Brother'-type databases, which are far more accurate and comprehensive than the pay-to-use ones online. She'd been looking on there for years to see if she could get any info about Terry's whereabouts. Turns out, she died last October 7th. I've also been in touch for some time with two guys who acquired much of Terry's personal effects - via private auction - within the past two years. There were rumors about what happened to her, including that she married a network executive and had children and was happy to just not talk about the old days, but based upon the huge paper trail she left between her birth and sometime in the late 80s, that never happened. Her death never made the papers though. She was pretty well out of the public eye for the last 40 or so years of her life. No one ever heard from her again after she left showbiz in about 1970. Her death has brought out a few people who knew her; I've exchanged some emails with two guys who were her boyfriends, one of whom took her to the senior prom at Lakewood High in Long Beach. They're sad, understandably.
